Happy Halloween!

Day 304

This is how Halloween was celebrated in the Porter household. No, seriously, this is it. I was given a box nerds at the club, and I found Halloween an appropriate time to eat them.

I like Nerds. I must have the same taste in candy that I have in people. Nerds are so much better than average run-of-the-mill people. I have always been a proud nerd, and I value that quality in others. People who have enthusiasm for things like knowledge, learning, and reading are so much more interesting. Even if someone is a different breed of nerd, I still find their company enjoyable. We can both learn new things from our respective nerdiness.

I like to read. I got excited about book fairs in school. I liked school. I paid attention in class, took lots of notes, and did well on tests. I graduated college with honors. I enjoy intelligent conversation about any given subject. I am a nerd, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Nerds have more fun.

I also get along very well with dorks and geeks, but there's no candy named after dorks or geeks. Nerds are clearly the coolest of the uncool.

Hurry up and wait

Day 303

I just barely made it to my third appointment with OST on time. This place is seriously awesome. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Sitting in their waiting room, I realized that it would be nice if they had a wider selection of magazines. Although it did totally amuse me that the cover model of Women's Health was wearing the exact dress I had been thinking of getting for Jackie and Harun's wedding. I have excellent taste.

Ugggghhhh

Day 302

This is what a real zombie looks like. I had entirely too much fun last night. I'm exhausted, disheveled, my body is sore from dancing, and I have a headache. It was totally worth it.

Carbon copy

Day 301

I decided upon a last minute costume change. It was way too cold to wear the sexy cop costume, so I went with plan B - a zombie. I had fallen in love with this costume before I decided on the other one, and this one comes with tights and longer sleeves - it was clearly meant to be.

Doug & I went to the Resurrection & Fallout Halloween party at The Zebra Club. We met up with Jackie and Harun there, along with some other cool people. The music was awesome, and we had such a great time.

When I walked over to say hello to my friend Beth, we made a funny discovery - we were wearing the exact same costume. We had a good laugh about that. I love Beth - she's such a fun, happy person. I'm a little bit jealous of her makeup job though. She looked much more dead than I did. I'm not so great at doing scary makeup. But at least I wasn't freezing.

Just because

Day 300

Doug left one of his bandanas at my apartment. I am a fan of all forms of head coverings, so I decided to give it a try. I figured that since I look good in hats, this might be a fun look too. Not so much. It looks good when he wears it. I must be doing it wrong.

Whee!

Day 299

I find joy in the smallest things. I'm definitely still a kid at heart. Obviously, I love fuzzy socks. But sliding across the floor while wearing fuzzy socks - awesome. I make my own fun.

Fail

Day 298

I had planned on working out this evening. That so didn't happen. I fell asleep on the couch as soon as I got home and woke up around 8:30 PM. I showered, ate dinner, and now I'm going back to sleep. Here's to productivity.

Hair

Day 297

My hair is getting long. I love the way it looks when it's straight. Not so much when it's curly, but curly is easier.

But sometimes, just sometimes, I start to miss the pixie cut. I Google up images of potential short hairstyles. Thus far, I've been able to shake myself out of it before I get all the way to the salon.

It has been quite a while since I "pulled a Michelle." But since we're running an entirely different version of me now, it's hard to say what "pulling a Michelle" would entail at this juncture.

Respect my authority!

Day 296

I found my Halloween costume today! I'm very excited about it. As you can probably tell from the hat, I'm going as a police officer. As for the rest of the costume, you'll just have to wait and see.
